Scott Freiman is a composer, arranger, producer, and sound editor, as well as the owner of Second Act Studio, a state-of-the-art music and video studio for composition, recording, and production. Mr. Freiman has composed original music and sound design for many award-winning films and has had his music performed at Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center. As a producer, Mr. Freiman has overseen recordings for a variety of artists -- from soloists to bands, and from young children to octogenarians.

Mr. Freiman is a versatile composer whose original classical and film music was performed at a sold-out Carnegie Hall concert, "Composed by Scott Freiman" that featured a 20-piece orchestra and a children's choir. Mr. Freiman composed the original score for UNDONE, a feature film directed by James DePaiva, and the award-winning EXIT. Mr. Freiman's other film scores include BODIES (Ojai Film Festival -- Best Narrative Short, Best Student Film), FOREIGN POLICY, (Los Angeles International Short Film Festival, Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival), GRANDMOTHER'S CIRCLE, MIDNIGHT MADNESS, and DANCING IN THE STREET (Ojai Film Festival). He conducted a live ensemble at Lincoln Center's Walter Reade Theater performing two of his short film scores, RUNNING ON AIR and MEDIA MIXER: DANCE ANIMATION live with picture.

Mr. Freiman was sound editor and mixer for the award-winning ENCOUNTER POINT (Tribeca Film Festival), a documentary from Ronit Avni and Julia Bacha, the writer of CONTROL ROOM. Mr. Freiman has also provided sound editing, design, and mixing for several other films, including THE GOOD MOTHER OF ABANGOH and a short film for the Clinton Foundation.

In early 2003, Mr. Freiman founded Second Act Studio. Designed by renowned studio architect, John Storyk, Second Act Studio is a high-tech music and video studio for music recording and production. Second Act has been featured in EQ magazine, as well as Pro Sound News and has been host to numerous artists, including Grammy-winning bassist John Patitucci, Grammy-nominated guitarist Jay Azzolina, and the esteemed Tokyo String Quartet.

Mr. Freiman is a partner in Garagista Music, an independent record label. Mr. Freiman produced and performed on several recordings for the label, including singer/songwriter Lisa Lynne Mathis's debut, Hancock Place, and the holiday compilation, Not Just Another Holiday CD (both co-produced with Doug Epstein). Mr. Freiman has also produced and arranged music for Nicole Pasternak, Alycea, NiNe Deep, Jessie Lambiase, and many other artists. Mr. Freiman is also a founder of Outlandos Music, a Web 2.0 company promoting "handpicked music discovery."

Mr. Freiman's formal music training began with classical piano lessons at the age of five. He studied piano for ten years with Reynaldo Reyes, the eminent concert pianist, and has studied composing with several influential musicians and composers, including award-winning composer Marc Antonio Consoli.

Mr. Freiman was a producer of the recent Broadway musical Little Women - The Musical, starring Maureen McGovern and Tony-winner Sutton Foster. Little Women completed a successful thirty-city tour of the United States in 2006.

Mr. Freiman is on the advisory board of Renovation in Music Education (RIME), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation helping young people, arts organizations, and communities succeed through innovative music-partnership programs. Mr. Freiman has taught music classes for children, including a composing seminar for fourth-graders.

Mr. Freiman holds a B.S. in Computer Science and Music from Yale University and a Masters of Music Composition from New York University. He co-founded Credit Management Solutions, Inc. (CMSI), a leading financial software company where Mr. Freiman served as CEO. Mr. Freiman, a Finalist for Ernst & Young's Maryland Entrepreneur of the Year, helped lead CMSI's successful public offering and orchestrated the sale of CMSI to the First American Corporation. After fifteen years of running a public company, he embarked on a new career as a composer and studio owner.

Mr. Freiman is married to the writer and social entrepreneur Allison Fine, author of the award-winning book, Momentum: Igniting Social Change in the Connected Age. He has three children, Max (12), Zack (10), and Jack (7).  Mr. Freiman is a member of the Manhattan Producers Alliance and the Society of Composers and Lyricists.
